Where to Find Cheap Hot Tub Chemicals Online

Wednesday, March 7th, 2012

A hot tub will make a great addition to any home that can set your gatherings apart from everyone else’s or allow you a place to truly relax and wind down in the evenings. However, this won’t last long unless you invest in the right hot tub chemicals to ensure it is a safe and hygienic place to spend your time. Often prices of these necessary chemicals can ward you off, but not with us here at The Swimming Pool Store, as we provide the best for less.

Hot tub chemicals and treatments are so essential to the well-being of your hot tub and therefore your health because bacteria requires little encouragement to flourish in most environments, let alone one that is perfectly suited to its needs – these being somewhere that is damp, dark and warm, much like a hot tub filter or any pipe work that is running throughout, such as heat pumps. Without the right cleaning and maintenance chemicals, this bacterium will be able to thrive and could then cause serious harm to whoever is using the tub.

Looking after the water and components inside your hot tub will allow them to look after you and with everything easily available for quick delivery and at affordable prices in our online shop, there is no reason whatsoever to neglect the health of your hot tub.

Our range of hot tub chemicals which includes everything from Fi-Clor chlorine tablets to surface cleaner will ensure that the hygiene levels of your hot tub are at their very highest and with prices that are all lower than those you might find elsewhere (just take Fi-Clor 1 litre surface cleaner: RRP £32.30 against our price of £24.57), your wallet will also be at its happiest. To speak to one of our experts to find out information on the best chemicals for your specific hot tub and usage needs, call us on 01494 483 652.

Spa Hot Tub Chemicals to Use in Winter

Tuesday, January 24th, 2012

If you are lucky enough to have a hot tub at home, then you will understand the importance of maintaining it to ensure that it is ready to be used throughout the year. Hot tub chemicals from the Swimming Pool Store are a simple yet effective way to keep your spa water clear and enjoy a clean and welcoming hot tub. Rainy afternoons and cold winter evenings offer the perfect opportunities to make the most of your hot tub, so it could be time to invest in some high-quality chemicals from the leading manufacturers.

A hot tub can make a cosy home for a number of bugs and bacteria which could be harmful to your health. These bugs are particularly fond of dark and warm places, such as your hot tub filter or the pipes leading to your tub. Not taking sufficient care of the water in your hot tub could also cause it to become cloudy and murky, which never makes for a welcoming place to spend an hour or two. A filter cartridge cleaner, such as Fi-Clor Spa Cartridge cleaner, can help to keep your water clear and inviting. When a build-up of minerals and grease leaves your spa water cloudy, Fi-Clor Spa Water Clarifier can return your hot tub to its best.

Cleaning your spa features three essential stages which are vital to ensure that your hot tub water is always healthy. When starting up your spa after a long period, for example during the winter when you leave your outdoor pool behind and head indoors to the spa, shock chlorination should be carried out to clean every part of the system. The circulation and filtration system consists of a pump and filter which needs to be maintained to keep your hot tub working effectively, whilst an effective chemical treatment regime including regular treatments with hot tub chemicals can help to extend the life of your spa and pool equipment Oxford by keeping it in top condition.

To keep your hot tub in top condition throughout the winter, invest in the highest quality hot tub chemicals available from the Swimming Pool Store.

How to Use Hot Tub Chemicals Safely

Friday, September 23rd, 2011

If you have treated yourself to a hot tub, you will be enjoying the relaxing benefits of having your very own spa. Your hot tub is a place to unwind, but if the water becomes dirty, it won’t be very inviting at all. It is important to keep your hot tub in good condition, and with hot tub chemicals from The Swimming Pool Store this can be simple and affordable.

When using hot tub chemicals, it is important to remember a few important tips.

Read the Instructions

You don’t need a degree in chemistry to take care of your hot tub, but you do need some common sense. Make sure you read any instructions which accompany the product you are using to ensure that your hot tub is cleaned safely.

Although you may have experience of using other swimming pool accessories, we recommend that you never clean your hot tub without being certain of how to correctly use these chemicals.

Never Mix Chemicals

Here at The Swimming Pool Store, we stock a wide range of hot tub chemicals for a variety of maintenance requirements, so you will never need to mix chemicals yourself to get the results you require. It is also important to add chemicals to water, never to your empty hot tub.

Store Chemicals Safely

When keeping hot tub chemicals at your home, it is important to store them out of the reach of children. Chemicals should also be kept cool and dry to ensure that they are always in the optimum condition for use.

Even if you are an experienced hot tub owner who can maintain your own swimming pool heaters and carry out your own plumbing Bath, we still recommend that you follow the advice of an expert when it comes to using chemicals.

Clean water is essential to have a hot tub which is safe to use. Whether you are filling your hot tub for the first time, or refilling it after it has stood empty, make sure you follow our advice and always use your hot tub chemicals from The Swimming Pool Store safely and responsibly.

Are Hot Tub Chemicals Safe?

Tuesday, June 21st, 2011

Now that summer is here, families throughout the country will be looking at ways to relax and enjoy the onslaught of warm weather which we’re all hoping for. One way in which the young and old can enjoy the summer is by relaxing in a hot tub. However, to ensure that hot tubs can be enjoyed for months on end it’s important to ensure that hot tub chemicals are used to keep it clean and hygienic.

When carrying out your usual garden maintenance Windsor, why not use this opportune time to take care of your hot tub too? There may be those that worry that the chemicals being used aren’t safe, but we at The Swimming Pool Store are here to break these myths, as we know that as long as hot tub chemicals are used in accordance to the instructions provided, they’ll remain completely safe whilst keeping your tub as clean as possible.

Myth: Chemicals added will cause irritation to the eyes/skin

Fact: When adding chemicals to your hot tub, by following the instructions provided and continuously checking the pH level of the water you can easily prevent any irritation. As a rule of thumb, anything between 6.8 and 7.0 is likely to cause irritation to the eyes and won’t be as effective in keeping the pool clean. If the pH scale falls between 7.8 and 8.6, again it’ll cause irritation to the eyes and skin, whilst being ineffective in keeping the pool clean. It’s therefore recommended to keep your hot tub’s pH level at around 7.4 to ensure there’s no irritation and the water is clean and hygienic.

Here at The Swimming Pool Store, not only do we stock a wide range of hot tub and swimming pool chemicals, but our team are highly experienced with the safe distribution of hot tub chemicals, so if you require any advice or have any questions surrounding their safety, please don’t hesitate to contact us by calling 01494 483652. You can also find additional helpful information on leisure related activities, including hot tubs and swimming pools, on LeisureDaily.com the UK’s leading leisure news source.

Hot Tub Chemicals: A How To Guide

Tuesday, June 7th, 2011

A hot tub is the ultimate home treat. The luxury of sitting out in your garden on a warm summer’s day with the heat of the water easing all the stresses of your week away, makes it a worthwhile investment. If you are lucky enough to own a hot tub, but are worried about using hot tub chemicals, the team here at The Swimming Pool Store are here to help. Understandably, it can be confusing trying to get to grips with all the different chemicals available. To give you a helping hand, we have devised a small ‘how to’ guide.

How To Maintain Your Hot Tub: Your Daily Routine

Developing a routine on when to sanitise your swimming pool is relatively easy, but one that is essential for your overall health and safety.

On a daily basis you should check the PH balance of your hot tub. This can be done by using the PH test strips which are available from us here at The Swimming Pool Store. Ideally, the PH balance should be between 7.6 and 8.2. If it is lower than this, then you will need to add Aqua Sparkle Spa 1kg pH Plus. If your PH is too high, then you need to add some Aqua Sparkle Spa 1kg pH minus which will reduce the PH balance of your pool.

How To Maintain Your Hot Tub: Hot Tub Chemicals

There are two main types of hot tub chemicals used to sanitise a hot tub, bromine and chlorine. Under no circumstances should they be used together. All hot tub chemicals have different instructions provided by the manufacturer and you should always read them fully before attempting to use such chemicals.

Both of these hot tub chemicals are effective forms of sanitizers to remove any harmful bacteria which may be present in your hot tub, and as such are commonly used in swimming pool design.

If you would like any more help about the various hot tub chemicals available and how to use them, then feel free to contact The Swimming Pool Store. We offer a friendly and informative service which you can access by simply phoning us on 01494 483 652.

How to Use Hot Tub Chemicals

Thursday, March 17th, 2011

Once upon a time, hot tubs were exclusively for the rich and famous who could afford the luxury. However, in recent years more and more homeowners throughout the UK are witnessing the delights and relaxation pleasures that their own hot tub on the decking provides. However whether you’re rich and famous or your average Joe, it’s important to have a clean hot tub, which is achieved by correctly using hot tub chemicals on a regular basis.

Here at The Swimming Pool Store, we understand the importance of having a clean hot tub whenever you come to use it; after all an un-sanitised hot tub can have serious health implications. For this reason, we’ve provided this simple guide on how to use chemicals to keep your hot tub clean and sanitised.

Whether you’re one of the lucky few who has recently purchased a hot tub to enjoy during the impending summer; or you’ve had your hot tub for a number of years but haven’t used it for a while, it’s important to ensure it’s been properly treated.

We believe the best way to treat your tub is to completely empty it and then to re-fill it. Once the water is added to the recommended level, heat the tub to 30° Celsius (80° Fahrenheit) before adding the chlorine chemical – full details of levels can be found in our leaflets.

Once the recommended time as per our leaflet has passed, use a pH test strip in the centre of the tub to test the pH level, if it falls below 7.6 add a pH increaser, and if it reads above 8.2 use a pH reducer. When you’re happy your tub is at the right pH level you can enjoy relaxing within it, accompanied by any of the range of swimming pool accessories we have.

For those of you that want to enjoy not only your hot tub during the chilly summer evenings, but your pool too, at The Swimming Pool Store we stock a range of swimming pool heaters, which along with our hot tub chemicals will allow you to enjoy bathing for the whole of the summer into the winter months.

How often Should Hot Tub Chemicals Be Used?

Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011

Everyone likes to indulge and a hot tub is the perfect way to unwind after a hard day at work. Hot tubs have become the ultimate luxury item and if you are lucky enough to own one at home, maybe in your back garden, then knowing how to treat and care for your hot tub is vital. There have been many scandals regarding improperly treated hot tubs, not least the recently publicised break out of the Legionnaires’ disease at Hugh Hefner’s Playboy Mansion. This was caused by a build-up of bacteria in his hot tubs and resulted in numerous guests falling ill with flu-like symptoms. To prevent any adverse health problems like this occurring due to poor maintenance, hot tub chemicals need to be used regularly.

But just how often should you use hot tub chemicals? Well, there is no easy answer, as it is all variable depending on the chemicals you use and how often you use the hot tub. However, good quality chemicals like the ones that we stock here at The Swimming Pool Store will have important manufacturer guidelines. These guidelines will help to maintain a healthy environment for you to relax in without the worry of what bacteria is living beneath the surface.

Water is the main component of a hot tub, and the equipment within the hot tub is designed to either to hold, filter, heat or move water. As such this presents a vast range of places in which harmful bacteria can grow. Maintaining your tub doesn’t have to be difficult or a chore, and here at the Swimming Pool Store we can give you the advice you need on hot tub chemicals. If your questions still haven’t been answered then please do not hesitate to get in touch with us on 01494 483 652 between 9.00am - 5.30pm on Monday to Friday.

Which are the Best Hot Tub Chemicals?

Thursday, February 17th, 2011

After a hard week at work, nothing can be more relaxing than getting home and sinking into a hot tub, which can soon evaporate all the stresses from the week and put you in the perfect mood for the weekend. It’s therefore understandable that the last thing you want to see as you remove the cover from your hot-tub is a layer of grime on the water, because the right hot tub chemicals haven’t been used to keep it sanitised. Here at The Swimming Pool Store, we stock a range of cleaning chemicals and below is a handy guide as to the best ones for your hot tub.

There are various chemicals available which are suitable for hot tubs and will ensure that your tub remains clean and sanitised. However through our experience within the industry, we’ve found the following products are the best on the market.

If this is the first time that you’ll be using your hot tub, or if it hasn’t been used for a long period of time, then it’s important before getting in that you ensure the water is properly chlorified. The best way to make sure of this is to use shock chlorination, such as the Fi-Clor Spa Shock, on fresh cold water.

This is a fast acting and fast dissolving chemical which is guaranteed to kill water borne bacteria, to ensure that your hot tub is safe for all to enjoy.

When cleaning the filter of the hot tub, we’ve found that the Fi-Clor Spa Cartridge Cleaner available through our website is the ideal treatment to use. Not only will it remove grease, oil and trapped debris from the filter cartridge, but it also helps ensure the filter continues to operate to a high standard.

All of the hot tub chemicals which preserve the life of the water used can cause irritation if they’re not used according to the instructions, or if bottles are left within the reach of young children. For this reason, along with stocking all relevant hot tub equipment, we also provide a safety document to help prevent any avoidable accidents.

Hot Tub Chemicals for Sensitive Skin

Wednesday, February 2nd, 2011

If you love hot tubs but have started to get the dreaded hot tub rash then The Swimming Pool Store are here to help. The hot tub rash commonly occurs due to unclean water. It doesn’t matter if you have just re-filled your hot tub with clean drinking water; if you do not use specialist hot tub chemicals to sanitise the water then bacteria will thrive in the warm damp conditions. Similarly if you do not follow manufacturer guidelines then regular skin exposure may sensitise your skin due to a pH imbalance in the water.

The hot tub rash can make your skin sensitive and sore to the touch. It can make it uncomfortable to bath in the tub, especially with regular use. These symptoms are caused by water that is not sanitised; this can lead to the whole experience of a hot tub being ruined. The use of chemicals will kill any harmful bacteria and maintain an ideal pH level in the tub - this is essential for your own and other users’ health.

As a rule, if you follow the instructions and carry out regular tests, then hot tub chemicals will not affect users who have sensitive skin and will prevent any rashes caused by unclean water. By following these precautions the users of your hot tub can relax and enjoy the warm and invigorating beneficial qualities that your hot tub experience possesses.

Here at The Swimming Pool Store we recognise the importance of keeping your hot tub clean. Chemicals should be used due to the conditions in your hot tub being an ideal harbouring location for bacteria and other worrying germs. This means that if hot tub chemicals are not used, then you are more likely to get rashes and infections. To view our range of chemical sanitizers follow the spa and Hot-tub chemicals link on our website.

Where to Buy Hot Tub Chemicals

Thursday, January 20th, 2011

Given that we’re still smothered in the depths of winter, many might think that your hot tub is the last thing on your mind. Of course, those of us who have one at home know that this couldn’t be further from the truth. There’s nothing more romantically magical than slipping into a steaming hot tub with a glass of bubbly, as the cold stillness of the night around you tries vainly to assert its presence. For many of us, our hot tub provides therapeutic relaxation all year round. However, as the team here at the Swimming Pool Store are well aware, such intensive usage could lead to a grimy or broken hot tub, if the proper precautions aren’t taken. Luckily we have just the thing; our extensive range of premium hot tub chemicals.

The good thing about the Fi-Clor and Blue Horizon chemicals in our range is that they don’t cost the earth. A spa or hot tub should be something that enriches your life, not a black hole into which a small fortune disappears on a monthly basis. With our selection, you can maintain the right chlorine or Bromine levels to enjoy your hot tub safely, comfortably and cheaply.

Without a sufficient chemical level, the organic matter that you introduce when bathing (skin cells etc) would feed an ever growing bacterial colony; eventually this could lead to algae build up and associated health complications for hot tub users.

While chlorine and Bromine can kill most harmful bacteria, it can only do so if you have the right PH level in your water. As a rough guide, 7.4 on the PH scale is the ideal range, but more information can be found on the hot tub chemicals area of our site. To ensure you can achieve the right level, we stock a number of alkalinity increasers or similar, for total convenience.

For more information regarding the hot tub chemicals we can provide, simply log on to our site or call 01494 483 652 to speak to a member of our team.
