Garden Swimming Pools Marlow

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

Every home is unique, meaning that every extension or alteration should be tailored to the building in hand. Swimming pools are no different at all. Having a swimming pool built in your garden is not something you should undertake lightly – it takes time and money and so homeowners need to ensure that they receive a pool that is not only right for them as people, but right for their property too should they wish to move on. Edge Building and Leisure have the skills, experience and equipment necessary to supply homeowners with absolutely flawless swimming pools Marlow.

Many of us simply waste our garden space, spending time tending to areas that are neither used nor enjoyed. A swimming pool can transform wasted space into a well used feature that can be enjoyed by the whole family. In fact, a swimming pool adds a touch of class and luxury to a home which is instantly recognisable, as well as contributing additional value to your home.

Here at Edge Leisure, we specialise in pool design and pool installation Marlow, meaning that we can take care of clients from start to finish. The first step is to carry out a comprehensive survey of the area available. While we conduct this survey, we take the opportunity to introduce ourselves and get an impression of your lifestyle and what you require in a pool.

Our designers will then construct a totally bespoke, unique pool design which, if approved, can be installed safely, professionally and within budget – transforming your garden into your very own relaxing resort.

Here at Edge Leisure, we can also install above ground pools for more cost effective solutions – ideal for entire families to enjoy. And with added extras like a free automatic pool cleaner for every below ground installation, we urge homeowners to make the most of their garden with bespoke swimming pools Marlow like ours.

Heat Pumps - Air to Water Technology

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

The swimming pool store have a large range of very efficient, eco friendly air to water heat pumps that provide a cheap alternative to conventional fossil fuels using a proven technology.

The principal behind these units is simple and if you think of a fridge in reverse you won’t be far wrong in how they operate. To be a little more technical, all our surroundings, even a block of ice, has heat. The purpose of a heat pump is to absorb heat in one place where it is plentiful, then to transfer and release it in another location (for example your pool water) where it can be used.

Useful heat can be found in the air outdoors and in the ground. Even on the coldest winter days, sufficient heat is present to warm your pool – what’s more, it is free. All you have to pay for is the machine to recover it and the cost of the energy to run the machine, vastly cheaper in the long term than oil heaters or gas heaters.

At the heart of a modern heat pump is a refrigeration system. Paradoxically, the refrigeration cycle is an efficient provider of heat as well as cooling and the basics of its operation are quite easily understood and here at the swimming pool store we feel our clients should be well informed and that understanding our products should help you make the right choice for your pool.

There are two principle locations in the transfer of heat; the place where heat is absorbed, (the source, in this case the air), and where it is rejected, (the destination, in this case your pool). The compressor in the refrigeration system also produces waste heat, and a significant proportion of this can be recovered, thereby reducing running costs and the ultimate release of CO2.

The transfer of this free heat is moved to the pool by means of a heat exchanger; one that absorbs heat, the other that rejects it. All but the largest industrial systems are hermetically sealed and pressurised, thereby reducing noise, space and heat losses. This means that the compressor and the motor that drives it are encased in a welded shell.

The swimming pool store have a wide range of units to suit every size pool and heating requirements, and we believe in giving our clients high quality units that are made in the UK to suit the UK market and for this reason we only offer the Calorex and Thermalec range of high quality and high efficient heat pumps, so if you require a heat pump just for the UK summer season, no problem or if you wish to extend the use of your pool, then just click the right one for your criteria. It is worth noting that the UK models we offer are made to suit our climate (different ambient temperature than other countries) and that some exported units are made for other climates with higher starting point and therefore may not work efficiently in the UK.

We have Calorex heat pump’s to suit every pool, every budget and every season, right through to all year round use models that can even reclaim heat in the winter!

To make it simple, we have sized each unit on standard UK pool sizes and then placed them into two categories, one for UK summer season and the other for UK extended season. So click your season requirement, and then the pool size and you’re done.

Time to change to LED lighting

LED’s have been around for a longtime now, however they have evolved and the swimming pool store is right up to date with the latest in LED lighting technology for your swimming pool.

For many years conventional LED lights were typically used as indicators for remote controls and TV’s and not really for lighting due the low output they gave, however the new type of LED lighting is a brand new technology giving high intensity outputs with a very low input.

These new LED pool lights are available in all the swimming pool store’s comprehensive range of LED lighting for swimming pools, from plain white to fantastic multi coloured systems to remote controls - we have it all.

So If you have a pool with a standard 300w (PAR56, typically Certikin) lamp assembly then our starter kit is perfect for you. It comprises of a PAR56 lamp to fit your existing light guts (middle part), a module for the transformer and a very compact long range remote control. so whether your into gadgets or just want to rejuvenate your pool we have a fantastic new state of the art lighting range to suit every pool and every budget.

From Certikin quick change lights to Eco-star white light guts to PAR 56 colour change conversion lamps we have the whole range in stock and a wealth of knowledge to provide you the backup you deserve

The LED lights in the light units we offer have a very long lamp life, typically 100,000 hours, in other words leave it on all the time and it will last 11 years!, and better than that they use up to 80% less power than a 300w lamp and require no maintenance. If you are having to change your lamps every year then its time to change over to LED so you can fit it, then forget it and enjoy it.

Oh and don’t worry if your not sure which one to chose for your pool or just need help installing, don’t worry you can either email us through the contact section or use the number at the top of the page and well give you free and reliable advice about which system is best for you and your pool.
